Have the Banks failed us again?

Money & Banks! - Have they failed us again? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

MONEY- It has been reported that over 10% of applications for mortgages are being turned down in the UK alone  - the figures are similar across so-called Western Nations!

Is this indicative of an economy in recovery? A stagnant economy which still has not found its bearings, or the inadequacy of the Banks to fill an important role? (A role on which they built their current economic power!)

Have the Banks turned their backs on the people AGAIN? 

With Payday loans becoming increasingly popular, middle classes shrinking under heavy debt burdens and the gaps between the even smaller rich and the even larger poor (or impoverished) populations growing - who is stepping in to provide jobs and more importantly, manageable capital that we need in order for a restoration of balance on the world stage?
