How we communicate and how it changes our world!

How we communicate and how it changes our world!

How difficult is it for us to have a common goal, regardless of any and all differences -  of mutual respect for each other and the desire to live and let live so that each of us can strive to make the best of life?

Logically, wouldn't this simple goal to make the world....whenever any genuine effort is made towards creating freedom, (coupled with order) make life's challenges so much more manageable? Why does mistrust and discrimination have to be added to the complications of life?

The opportunity to each live our lives, sharing a common home (this Earth), whilst recognising our many differences....BUT without feeling the need to diminish, discriminate against or mistreat one another, is quite simply a tremendously desirable goal - yet traditionally it has been marred by fundamental misunderstandings!

Often these misunderstandings is based on the inability to communicate with each other - i.e. the separation usually caused by difference of language and culture, (and unfortunately, even in the modern technological age, we can add to this the economic separations and barriers which result in the inability to access the tools which would allow us to bring down some of these barriers between us!)

It has been proven over and over again, throughout the history of human existence, that nothing is more capable of fostering change than collective, collaborative will of individuals, fostered by an understanding made possible through truthful, unbiased communication! Indeed, some of the most effective democracies in the world today are those that are run with the greatest degree of public input.

This goal -  to facilitate communication and rapport between people around the globe - regardless of race, creed or colour, sex, sexuality, religion or income bracket, etc.may now be at the precipice of being revived - or at least have  the opportunity for such - we all share a responsibility to support its fruition! (....and those of us who take access to the internet for granted should consider what its proper organisation and increased availability to people around the world - (who though different are still all JUST PEOPLE), can be finally effectively used to make the real and necessary changes to bring about the positive differences which may actually give rise to PEACE!

To quote from Nobel Peace Laureate, Prime Minister of Canada, (1963-68), Lester B. Pearson: “ How can there be peace without people understanding each other, and how can this be if they don't know each other ....”

This statement, is one of those timeless ones that should always cause each and every one of us to stop and reflect on its significance!
